Radyo Mo sa Nutrisyon is a 30-minute block time nutrition radio program aired over RMN-DZXL 558 Manila every Saturday from 12:30 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. NNC Officer-in-Charge Executive Director III Dr. Azucena M. Dayanghirang anchors the program with radio broadcaster Rod Marcelino. Radyo Mo sa Nutrisyon discusses issues about nutrition, health and development. Since 2015, the program expanded its broadcast to eight other RMN provincial stations including DYKR 1161 Kalibo, DYHB 747 Bacolod, DYVR 657 Roxas, DYHP 612 Cebu, DXDR 981 Dipolog, DXMB 648 Malaybalay, DXDC 621 Davao and DXBC 693 Butuan. Radyo Mo sa Nutrisyon also broadcasts through online platforms such as via Youtube(RadyoMosaNutrisyonYr10), Facebook (RadyoMosaNutrisyon), Radio Mindanao Network Facebook live and over television via Cignal TV Channel 309.

2019 childrens month

The Regional Sub-Committee for the Welfare of Children (RSCWC) MIMAROPA Region in partnership with the Provincial Government of Marinduque celebrated the 27^th Regional Children’s Month Celebration last 20 November 2019 at Boac, Marinduque with the theme, “Karapatang Pambata: Patuloy na Pahalagahan at Gampanan Tungo sa Magandang Kinabukasan.”

This year’s theme focuses on intensifying public awareness on child’s rights reminding all sectors of the community has the responsibility in nurturing Filipino child to become an accomplished person and provide protection to her/him at all cost.

The celebration was spearheaded by RSCWC Chair and DSWD OIC-Regional Director Floreceli G. Gunio and jam-packed with more than 200 children from Capitol Early Childhood Care and Development Center, Bangbangalon Elementary School, Laylay Elementary School and Don Luis Hidalgo Memorial School.

The participants enjoyed the Basic Children Disaster Risk Reduction Management by Mr. Jose Rino P. Labay, OIC-PDRRMO of Marinduque in which he presented different animated stories showing the do’s and don’ts during disasters. This activity paved the way in one of the National Plan of Action for Children (NPAC) Goals making children actively participating in decision-making process affecting their lives.

As part of the over-all LGU mobilization strategy in scaling up nutrition in the remaining years of PPAN implementation, the National Nutrition Council Regional Office IX conducted a five-day local planning workshop on Integrating Nutrition in the Provincial Development and Physical Framework Plan (PDPFP), Comprehensive Development Plan (CDP) and Local Development Investment Plan (LDIP) for the province of Zamboanga del Sur. The workshop was held at the Hotel Guillermo, Pagadian City which was attended by 122 participants of 28 LGUs of the ZDS province. The participants were composed of Municipal Nutrition Action Officers, Municipal Health Officers, Municipal Budget Officers, Municipal Planning and Development Coordinators and Officers, DILG IX Municipal Local Government Operations Officers and other members of the Municipal Nutrition Committee.

To begin the workshop, Mr. Roger Saniel, Board member and Sangguniang Panglalawigan Vice Chairman on Health and Social Services addressed the welcome remarks for the activity. Mr. Saniel stated that he and the governor of Zamboanga del Sur province are hopeful that the function/activity will bring fusion to a well thought nutrition action plan that will ultimately benefit the constituents of the province specially the needy and the poor.

July 17, 2019-The Bureau of Jail Management and Penology Regional Office 1 (BJMP-ROI) conducted the 2nd Regional Chef Olympics Competition at the BJMP-ROI Compound, Parian, City of San Fernando, La Union as part of the 2019 Nutrition Month Celebration. The said event was participated by the city, district and municipal jails from all over the region.

The event started with an orientation of the participants on the mechanics of the competition. The contestants were given the opportunity to do the marketing of the food commodities they will be using at the City Wet Market. The preparation and cooking started at around 7 in the morning followed by the evaluation and judging by the member of the board of judges.

Participants were tasked to prepare delicious and nutritious breakfast, lunch and dinner for persons deprived of liberty (PDL) in the region with the budget of P70.00 per person per day.

ECCD-F1K Provincial Nutrition Coordinator Helen Joy Bugaling and Nutrition Officer II Christie Ferino of the National Nutrition Council Regional Office 1 served as the board of judges for the contest. Criteria for judging includes Serving Method and Presentation (20%), Portion Size and Nutritional Balance (30%), Creativity and Practicality (30%), and Flavor, Taste, Texture and Doneness (20%).

AAA DILG CAR RD

BAGUIO CITY- In response to the weight management project of the Regional Nutrition Committee-CAR, the Department of the Interior and Local Government of CAR launched on June 3, 2019 at the DILG-CAR Office, Baguio City their weight management program as a way of supporting and signifying their participation to the project.
