BAGUIO CITY- “An NGO has the mind of a leader but a heart of a servant,” says Mrs. Imelda Pelera of KALIPI and Baguio Biggest Losers during the Non-Government Organization forum organized by the National Nutrition Council-CAR on August 2, 2017 at El Ceilito Inn, Baguio City. The activity was attended by representatives of 18 different NGOs in the region.

The conduct of annual NGO forum which convenes NGO representatives to share their involvement and contributions on nutrition started in 2015 and  this was the third time that NNC-CAR organized such activity. 

NO III Bella Basalong of NNC-CAR presented the overview of nutrition situation in the region followed by the presentation on the Philippine Plan of Action for Nutrition 2017-2022 and its counterpart plan in the region, the Regional Plan of Action for Nutrition by Rita D. Papey, the Regional Nutrition Program Coordinator of NNC-CAR.

Panel discussion on NGO initiatives, innovations, practices in scaling nutrition action, experiences, insights, lessons learned and prospects were actively participated by each participant.

A workshop on identification and commitment getting on investments from NGOs was also done.
