BAUANG, La Union- Key members of the municipal nutrition committees from Bucloc, Lagangilang, Pilar, San Isidro and Sallapadan  Abra  drafted their local  nutrition action plans for 2018 to 2020 in a workshop facilitated by NNC-CAR on August 22-24, 2017 at Marand Resort and Spa, Bauang, La Union.  This is the second batch of planning workshop conducted by NNC-CAR as part of the LGU mobilization strategy approved by the Regional Nutrition Committee through Resolution No. 5 s. 2017.

The participating municipalities were selected based on the prevalence of stunting in the 2016 Operation Timbang (OPT) Plus results. Municipal Nutrition Committee members which include MNAO designates, Municipal Health Officers, MLGOOs, MPDC, MSWDO staff, other RHU staff and two Barangay Nutrition Scholars from Sablan, Benguet were the participants.

In 2016, the first batch of local nutrition planning workshop was conducted for seven municipalities of Abra namely: Bangued, Danglas, Lagayan, Licuan-Baay, Malibcong, Tineg and Villaviciosa Copies of the municipal nutrition action plans of these municipalities were forwarded to NNC-CAR office.
