ATOK, Benguet- LGU Atok heightens fight against malnutrition in the municipality through the conduct of a series of planning workshops for its barangays aimed at overcoming malnutrition. It allocated P90,000.00 fund for the 2018 Barangay Nutrition Action Plan (BNAP) formulation workshops that will be conducted from August to October 2017.

Ms. Linda Binay-an, the Municipal Nutrition Action Officer-designate and the Municipal Nutrition Committee (MNC) secretariat facilitated the first workshop last August 29-30 for barangays  Cattubo and Paoay at the  FITS Center, Paoay, Atok, Benguet. Nutrition Officer II Nancy Paclos of NNC-CAR, Provincial Nutrition Action Officer Amelia Cayap and District Nutrition Program Coordinator Joynalyn Tadifa served as co-facilitators.

The barangays of Naguey, Poblacion and Pasdong are scheduled to have their BNAP formulation workshop on September 27-28, 2017 while the barangays of Abiang, Caliking and Topdac on October 2017. MNAO Binay-an is hoping that with this strategy of the Municipal Nutrition Committee, the municipality can further improve nutritional status of their population especially stunting among 0-59 months aside from improving planning and preparation of accomplishment reports in all barangays.
