BAGUIO CITY- Cordillera Administrative Region Barangay Nutrition Scholars Federation, Inc., the regional federation of BNSs in the region had their 2nd semetral meeting for 2017 on September 07, 2017 at Hotel Supreme, Baguio City. One main agenda of the meeting is the election of new set of officers for 2017-2019.
From the secret ballot way of election, a new President of the regional federation emerged in the person of Monica Sicat, the BNS of City Camp, Baguio City and the current President of Baguio City BNS Federation. BNS Joan Alvez of Baguio City, the outgoing President was elected as Vice-President, BNS Celia Dulnuan of Asipulo, Ifugao as the Secretary, BNS Love-in Lagat of Aguinaldo, Ifugao as the Assistant Secretary, BNS Thelma Bulosan of Bucay, Abra as Treasurer, BNS Veron Adviento of Lagawe, Ifugao as Auditor, BNSs Geraldine Cayat of Sablan, Benguet and Marilou Lu of Lagangilang, Abra as PROs and BNSs Mila Buya of Kapangan, Benguet and Leonida Uddipa of Luna, Apayao as Business Managers. For the Board Members of each province and city, Dado Ilong for Tabuk City, Helen Castillo for Abra, Evelyn Wacan for Apayao and Remedios Martinez for Baguio City were elected.
The new set of officers were inducted by Regional Nutrition Program Coordinator Rita Papey of NNC-CAR after the election. Each of them promised to do their duties and responsibilities in accordance with the Constitution and by Laws of the federation.
Ms. Sicat, in her message as the incoming President said that she will continue the activities started by the previous officers and committed to do her best and to serve better for the advantage of all Barangay Nutrition Scholars nationwide.
