BAGUIO CITY- Eight registered nutritionist dietitians were deployed in the provinces of Abra, Apayao, Benguet including Baguio City, Kalinga and Mt. Province on July 17 and for Benguet on June 21, 2019 as part of the Nutritionist-Dietitian’s Deployment Program of the 2019 Human Resource for Health of the Department of Health.

Pre-Deployment orientation was done by the province of Benguet on July 21 and other provinces are organizing their own while mass oath taking of all HRH personnel in the region is being scheduled any day between July 8-12, 2019 and is expected to be graced by Dr. Maria Francia Miciano-Lacsamana, Assistant Secretary of the Department of Health, Field Implementation Management Cluster.

These nutritionist dietitians are expected to help ensure the implementation of nutrition program in the local government units, provide technical assistance to the local nutrition committee in managing local nutrition action plan, in the conduct of MELLPI Pro (Monitoring and Evaluation of Local Level Plan Implementation Pro) and as resource persons/facilitators in capability building activities and advocacy activities on nutrition etc.

The eight nutritionist dietitians who were deployed are Mislyn Rimando and Charmaine Roxas in Abra, Jennifer Subion in Apayao, Kim Lagto and Mary Gene Contic in Baguio City, Nancy Paclos in Benguet, Crizel Ligyasi in Mt. Province and Xaenadya Ebony Maligpas in Kalinga.
