Going virtual like the rest of the world, the nutrition organizations in the Cordillera, the Nutrition in Action Officers, District/City Nutrition Program Coordinators and Barangay Nutrition Scholars started to have their meetings on online.
D/CNPCs had their virtual meeting last July 8, 2020 to discuss activities and updates in the region and province. The meeting used FB chat room and was presided by Ms. Angelita Sabado, CNPC of Baguio City and President of the association. Ms. Mary June Algarne and Ms. Glenda Benedito (Abra), Ms. Corazon Dawong (Ifugao), Ms. Kristal Gail Basitao Dacio (Kalinga), Ms. Myrna Holanio and Ms. Frinida Chinopsan (Baguio City) attended the said meeting. RNPC Papey and NO III Basalong also provided nutrition updates during the meeting.
Meanwhile, the BNS officers conducted a combination of face to face and virtual meeting last July 14, 2020 at Prince Plaza Hotel, Baguio City and via zoom app respectively. It was attended by 12 BNSs from Baguio City, Benguet, Ifugao, Kalinga and Abra. Six were in the conference room on face to face while half of the participant were online using a big screen. Aside from the review of their previous plans and agreements , the officers shared their experiences as front liners including the challenges they encountered during this COVID-19 community quarantine. RNPC Rita Papey extended the salute/ pagpupugay to the BNSs for all their commitment and services for the communities.
It was also on July 16, 2020 that NAOA-CAR had their meeting via Zoom App. The meeting was presided by Mr. Jimmy Taguilingon, MNAO of Asipulo, Ifugao and President of the NAOA-CAR. Agenda of the meeting included the discussion on the financial matters of the organization, data collection of wasting through FHSIS, Nutrition Month concerns and the Local Nutrition Planning and Integration in the LGU Budget. NAOA-CAR Officers elected last March 12, 2020 also had their virtual oath taking. The officers shall hold office for three (3) years from 2020-2023.
Truly, NNC CAR and the groups are learning to live in the new normal brought by the pandemic.
