With the growing reliance on the use of technology due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the National Nutrition Council-CAR conducted an online Digital Orientation for Nutrition Workers on February 23, 2021 via Zoom Conference, where a total of 45 participants composed of District/City Nutrition Program Coordinators, Provincial/City/Municipal Nutrition Action Officers, and other representatives from the LGUs in CAR participated.

In support to the LGUs, the NNC-CAR has provided ICT gadgets/supplies such as internet modems, powerbanks, external drives and OTGs that will be used in support to the conduct of nutrition program planning, monitoring and other mobilization activities when face-to-face activities are limited.

NPC Rita Papey said in her opening remarks that this activity will help participants in "catching up" to adopt the changes on how activities are being done nowadays.

IT Instructor, Ms. Hydi Toyeng, MIT discussed the proper usage and maintenance of ICT gadget

and supplies. Other trouble shooting concerns raised by the participants were also resolved.

To help familiarize and guide the nutrition workers on the use of common online tools, NNC-CAR Nutrition Officer III Bella Basalong and NOII Velanie Dao-ines consecutively discussed the common online applications such as Google sheets, Google Docs and Google forms and the common video conferencing tools such as Zoom App, Google Meet, Cisco Webex and FB Room.

NOIII Basalong said that the Nutrition partners are expected to use these tools to facilitate collection and dissemination of data as well as collaboration and submission of reports and documents in the future.
