Baguio City – Cordillera Barangay Nutrition Scholars Federation (CordiBNS Fed. Inc.)  met to push the Survivorship Assistance Fund (SAF) project and approved activities for 2021 amid the COVID 19 pandemic.

The Cordi BNS president and treasurer presented  the financial statement of the federation and updates on the payment of 2020 annual dues and Survivorship Assistance Fund (SAF). The SAF is a project of the federation that aimed at helping families of BNSs when a BNS passes away.  The president tasked all the other officers to track and follow up annual contributions from members and ensure proper recording, orderly processing and release of  the cash assistance to beneficiaries. The officers listed 5 BNSs who passed away and agreed that the fund assistance for these members be issued soonest.

The Federation officers also agreed  to conduct three activities this 2021 even with the ongoing pandemic.  They agreed to  conduct a webinar on PPAN in partnership with NNC-CAR, Meet with the Mountain Province BNSs representatives, and hold  a  BNS Virtual Congress.

During the meeting, the federation officers received a refresher on the guidelines for BNS assistance requests provided by NNC such as BNS Travelling Allowance Request, BNS Medical Assistance Request, BNS Survivorship Assistance and BNS CS Eligibility Request.  

Ms. Geraldine Cayat, CordiBNS Fed. Inc President presided the meeting and was beyond grateful for the participation of the officers of the federation. Attendees included Ms. Love-in Lagat of Barangay Ubao, Aguinaldo, Ifugao; Ms. Noemi Garcia of Barangay Alfonso Tabora, Baguio City; Ms. Thelma Bulosan of Barangay Bangcagan, Bucay, Abra; Ms. Marilyn Bona of Barangay ABCR, Baguio City; Ms. Florence Bravo of Danglas, Abra; Ms. Maneth Paran of Barangay Irisan, Baguio City; Ms. Helen Castillo of Langiden, Abra’ Ms. Rebecca Pagdilao of Luna, Apayao; Ms. Russel Lagman of Tuba, Benguet; Ms. Lanilla Tallongan of Paracelis, Mt. Province; and  Ms. Natividad, Ramos of Asin, Baguio City.

Ms. Cayat also extended her gratitude to the National Nutrition Council CAR for its support and assistance to the federation.
