Baguio City - National Nutrition Council (NNC)-CAR kicked-off the 2nd season of the Cordillera NutriSong Contest for Local Nutrition Committees earlier this June in celebrations of the 2021 Nutrition Month and the 34th Cordillera Month in July.
The NutriSong Contest aims to increase awareness among key stakeholders on the nutrition month theme “Malnutrisyon Patuloy na Labanan, First 1000 Days Tutukan!”. It also aims to increase camaraderie among Local Nutrition Committee (LNC) members.
The contest will still use social media platform considering social distancing, limited movements and mass gatherings due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The provinces of the region are requested to submit one entry each, and Baguio City is enjoined to submit an entry as well. Said entries should represent any local nutrition committee such as barangay, municipal, city, or provincial.

Winners of the contest will be given cash prizes and certificates. The 1st place will receive P30,000.00, P25,000.00 for the 2nd place, and P20,000.00 for the 3rd place. The other participants will receive consolation prizes of P7,000.00.
Last year’s inaugural edition of the contest hailed Ifugao Province as first place, and Baguio City and Mountain Province as 2nd and 3rd places, respectively.
Interested Local Nutrition Committees may coordinate with their provincial/city Nutrition Action Officer and District/City Nutrition Coordinator for details. Winners of the contest will be posted on the NNC-CAR’s Fanpage on July 23, 2021.
