In the Cordillera, the Radyo Kiphodan, DZNC-FM 99.1 in Lagawe, Ifugao and Radyo Kabinnulig, DZNA-FM 99.7 in Lagangilang, Abra joined in the renewal of commitment.
Flores reminded NCRS is not just a music station. It also focuses on broadcasting nutrition-related information, wherein 60 percent of the broadcast is devoted to health and nutrition and 40 percent for music, fun and other related activities.
She said only timely and correct information should be broadcast in nutriskwela community radion stations, which should be used extensively during calamities and other kinds of disasters.
NCRS was established by the NNC in partnership with a local government unit or state university or college in 2008 with the goal of empowering the community through radio to disseminate correct, current, relevant nutrition and health information, and education and developmental information from all concerned sectors of the community. – Marcelo B.
