Lagawe, Ifugao, the National Nutrition Council-Cordillera Administrative Region in partnership with the Cordillera Administrative Region-Media Educators on Nutrition (CAR-MENu) and the Municipality of Lagawe, Ifugao conducted the Broadcasters’ Training for Radio Kiphodan Council last September 24 to 25, 2014 at the Community Development Conference (CDC) Multi-purpose Hall, Municipal Health Office (MHO) Building, Lagawe, Ifugao. The thirty-two participants were composed of the Radio Kiphodan Council, the Radyo Kiphodan staff, representatives from the different provincial and municipal offices and representative of the Barangay Nutrition Scholar Municipal Federation. Speakers of the training were Mr. Joseph Manzano and Mr. Dexter See who shared their expertise in a practical and coherent manner.

The activity aims to capacitate, enhance, and strengthen the Radio Kiphodan Council in order to effectively and efficiently manage Radyo Kiphodan. The said radio station is a community radio established by the National Nutrition Council in partnership with the municipal government of Lagawe, Ifugao in 2008 and it is one of the two community radio stations in the Cordillera.

Participants were able to come up with an enhanced radio program with more participation from the various sectors or offices of the municipality and the province of Ifugao.

According to Budget Officer of Lagawe and chairperson of Radio Kiphodan Council Magdalena Namingit, the council will meet to finalize the proposals of the participants through a resolution.
