With the theme, “Kalusugan, Kaisipan at Kapakanan ng Bawat Bata Ating Tutukan,” this year’s Children’s Month Celebration focuses more on supporting the mental health and over-all well-being of children amid the pandemic. This year’s theme calls for the public to exert necessary interventions in attaining this goal.
In support to the year’s theme, the National Nutrition Council-CAR in partnership with the Commission of Higher Education-CAR and CAR-Media Educators on Nutrition launched a nutri-jingle video contest for Higher Education Institutes. The theme for the Nutri-Jingle contest “New Normal na Kalusugan ng Bawat Bata Tutukan at Sama-samang Gawan ng Solusyon,” is anchored to the 2022 Nutrition Month and National Children’s Month.
According to studies, music is an evidence-based therapy for various mental health conditions. Towards the goal to engage adolescents and promote mental health and over-all well-being of children amid the pandemic, the activity was conducted. It also aimed to showcase talent of students on jingle making and engage adolescents in promoting good nutrition.
Five (5) State College and Universities participated in the 2022 Nutri-Jingle contest namely Abra State Institute of Sciences and Technology, Apayao State College, Benguet State University, Kalinga State University and Mountain Province Polytechnic State College.
Kalinga State University garnered the First place followed by Benguet State University (second place) and Abra State Institute of Sciences and Technology (third place). Criteria for determining the winner of the nutri-jingle contest was 20% social media reactions and 80% from the judges’ score.
Cash prizes were awarded to the winners: 1st prize: P16,000.00; 2nd Prize: P12,000.00; 3rd prize: P8,000.00; consolation prizes: P3,500.00.
