Bangued, Abra - As part of the technical assistance and consultation of NNC to gather willingness of LGUs to have a collaborative activity to improve their nutrition situation, NNC officials meet with a total of the 39 participants from members of the Provincial Nutrition Committee and Municipal Nutrition Action Officer-Designates.  

The NNC officials were led by Deputy Executive Director Rita Papey, Nutrition Policy and Officer-in-Charge of the Nutrition Planning Division Ellen Ruth Abella and NNC-MIMAROPA Regional Nutrition Program Coordinator Ma. Eileen Blanco and NNC-CAR Regional Nutrition Program Coordinator Bella Basalong.  

Activities discussed were the nutrition situation of the region and the province, identification on the causes of malnutrition and identification of programs which were effective to decrease the malnutrition problem. 

The meeting was also an avenue to share updates and accommodate queries from the MNAOs. The DILG Provincial Director Daisy Payang gave update on the DILG Memorandum Circular No. 2023-001: Implementation of the Halina't Magtanim ng Prutas at Gulay (HAPAG) sa Barangay Project.

Among the provincial nutrition committee  member offices present were from DILG, MSWDO, OPAG, PPDO, PDOHO, PHO and PBO.
