The Search for the 2018 Regional Outstanding Barangay Nutrition Scholar (ROBNS) in the National Capital Region is on its final leg as the fifteen (15) ROBNS contenders took their written examination and went through a panel interview on April 26, 2019 at the NNC Central Office in Taguig City.
The NCR’s Regional Nutrition Evaluation Team (RNET) evaluated the performances of the contenders for the ROBNS Award by doing a documents review using the new Monitoring and Evaluation of Local Level Plan Implementation Protocol or MELLPI Pro for Local Nutrition Workers. The MELLPI visits were done from March 12 to April 10, 2019. Aside from the documents review, all the ROBNS contenders must take a written examination and undergo an interview.
During the opening program, NNC-NCR Regional Nutrition Program Coordinator Milagros Elisa V. Federizo congratulated all the examinees for being outstanding BNSs in their respective local government units. She hopes that NCR will again be able to produce a National Outstanding BNS (NOBNS). She also emphasized that being OBNSs, much are expected from them and they should be an inspiration and role models to their fellow BNSs. Nutrition Officer III Emerenciana L. Francia explained the procedures of the exam and interview. After the exam proper, answers to the questions were discussed by NO III Francia.
In the afternoon, the panel of interviewers composed of RNPC Federizo, NO III Francia, NO I Bea Menorca, and Mr. Vic Viray of the Grace Family Helper Project interviewed each of the ROBNS hopefuls using the set of questions provided by NNC.
Results of the Search for the 2018 ROBNS as well as the MELLPI done in the 17 LGUs in Metro Manila will be deliberated on and finalized by the RNET in a meeting to be held on May 17, 2019. The top performing LGUs and 2018 ROBNS will be recognized during the Regional Nutrition Awarding Ceremony (RNAC) on July 2019.
The 2018 NCR ROBNS will have the chance to vie for the NOBNS Award and be evaluated by the National Evaluation Team (NET) depending on the cut-off scores and mechanics determined by the NNC. (ELF/TAR/NPC MEVF/NNC-NCR)
