CABA, LA UNION – The National Nutrition Council (NNC) in cooperation with the Maglaya Medical-Legal Missions, Inc. (MMLM) enjoined the students of Jesus Cares Christian Academy together with their parents to practice healthy lifestyle and balanced diet during their 9th Foundation Day held last February 17, 2017. The event which was initiated by MMLM was attended by 145 individuals.
Ms. Mary Gene Contic, Nutrition Officer I of NNC and Ms. Tiffany Joy Peñera, Nutritionist-Dietitian of Caba District Hospital discussed the Pinggang Pinoy for Kids and 10 Kumainments respectively while the Department of Health provided promotional materials. The activity is also in line with this year’s Nutrition Month theme, “Healthy diet, gawing habit for life!”, and served as fresh start in the intensive advocacy campaign on healthy lifestyle and balanced diet.
MMLM, an active Non-Government Organization for health and nutrition in the province gave their full commitment to be an active partner in giving services to alleviate malnutrition in the Municipality of Caba being one of the municipalities in the region with high incidence of undernutrition particularly wasting and underweight.
