City of San Fernando, La Union-- The Sto. Tomas BNS Group from the Province of La Union brought home the title as the champion of the Nutri-jingle Video Contest Season 3 spearheaded by the National Nutrition Council-Regional Office I (NNC1) and the LUPang Ilocos Barangay Nutrition Scholar Federations, Incorporated (LUPangIlocosBNSFed.,Inc.) as part of the 46th Nutrition Month Celebration with the theme “Batang Pinoy, SANA TALL… Iwas Stunting, SAMA ALL! Iwas ALL din sa COVID-19!”.
The Sto. Tomas BNS Group from the Province of La Union garnered a total score of 93.68% beating the other 3 competitors from Ilocos Sur and Ilocos Norte.
Banuar ni Salun-at of Ilocos Norte District I bagged the second place with a total score of 76.78% while Candon Nutri-jingle Group of Ilocos Sur and entry Ipaglaban, Batang Pinoy of Ilocos Norte District II as third and forth place with a score of 64.82% and 59.48%, respectively.
The winners were assessed using the following criteria : Number of Likes (15%), Number of Reach (15%), Number of Views (15%), Originality (20%), Choreography (15%) and Relevance to theme (20%) with a total of 100%.
Ms. Anne Hazel Flores (Information Officer II of PIA Region 1 and Member of RONDA-1), Ms. Celestina C. Paz (Station Manager of DWFB Radyo Pilipinas-Laoag City and Member of RONDA-1) and Mr. Emmanuel Sibayan (Station Manager of DWID-FM Love Radio Dagupan City and Auditor of RONDA-1) and the netizens served as the member of the Board of Judges.
The winners will receive certificate of recognitions and cash prizes amounting to P10,000, P6,000.00 and P4,000.00 for the first, second and third place, respectively. The non-winning entry will also receive a certificate and a consolation prize.
This proves that Barangay Nutrition Scholars are not just active in providing quality nutrition services, but they also excel with their talents.
The National Nutrition Council Region I also commended and honored all the Barangay Nutrition Scholars as nutrition heroes in this time of pandemic for continually providing health and nutrition services during the community quarantine period.
In 2018 and 2019, the National Nutrition Council Region I in partnership with DEPED-ROI launched the two successful Nutri-jingle Video Contest Season 1 and 2 participated by secondary schools from the provinces and cities of Region I. /JMP
