LTN2City of San Fernando, La Union-- The National Nutrition Council Region 1 (NNC-1) in partnership with the League of Nutrition Action Officers of Region 1 (RLNAOs) to launch an online nutrition promotion and advocacy program dubbed as “LET’S TALK NAO!” which will run from June to November 2021 via the NNC1 office Facebook page and Youtube channel.

This was inked both by NNC1 and RLNAOs during the RLNAOs zoom meeting held on March 25, 2021.

The program will feature the best practices of local nutrition committees (LNC) in providing nutrition services especially in this time of pandemic and a great venue to provide updates on the progress of nutrition program implementation among LGUs.

Social media platform is among the top source of nutrition information especially during this COVD-19 pandemic based on recent survey.

Mr. Kendall Gatan, Officer-In-Charge of NNC1 said that online nutrition promotion through the social media aside from the usual and other platforms can greatly help in reaching every individual not only in the region but also in the country.

Technical working group then organized to produce and develop 24 episodes with15-30 minutes per episode and identified LGUs to be featured.

The program aims to recognize LGUs with exemplary performance in providing nutrition services and encourage other LGUs to step-up in their nutrition programs and services to address the threat of this pandemic in the food and nutrition security.

It also aims to raise awareness among netizens, LGUs and other stakeholders in their responsibilities to contribute in fighting malnutrition in their own simple ways.

The program will be launched on June 4, 2021 with the special participation of the Regional Organization of Nutrition and Development Advocates-1 (RONDA-1), Inc./ CPF
