1 September 2021 – The National Nutrition Council Region 1 (NNC1) successfully held its first ever Nutrition Month (NM) Virtual Awarding Ceremony 2021 via zoom and facebook live to recognize offices, groups and individuals who participated in the extended monthlong celebration in Region I. 

The said awarding ceremony was participated by all Nutrition Month Contest participants in Nutri-Jingle Video Contest Season 4 with 4 families in Family Category and 23 schools for Student Category and 13 participants in Nutrition Month Digital Poster Making Contest (Breastfeeding Month Edition) including the members of the board of judges and Regional Line Agencies in Region 1.

OIC-Nutrition Program Coordinator of NNC Region 1, Mr. Kendall Pilgrim A. Gatan in his opening message expressed his gratitude for all the support in the concluded monthlong celebration and commended all winners and non-winners of various contests for featuring their talents and advocacies during the 47^th Nutrition Month Celebration and Breastfeeding Awareness Month.

Dir. Tolentino G. Aquino, Regional Director of the Department of Education on his keynote address  applauded the active participation of their Division Offices and the general public in various Nutrition Month events and contests and enjoined everyone to be a nutrition advocates in their families, communities and in schools.

Nutri-Jingle Video Contest Student Category

1^st Place: Team Bebeko of San Quintin National High School (89%)

2^nd Place: Youth Frontline for H&N of Bolinao Integrated School (75.11%)

3^rd Place: Alaminos City National High School (72.25%)

The Nutri-Jingle Video Contest winners in both Family and Student Category brought home cash prizes of P8,000.00 for First Place, P5,000.00 for Second Place and P2,000.00 for Third Place while non-winning entries received certificates.

On the other hand, the Departnment of Health- CHD1 granted the winners of the Digital Poster Making Contest cash prizes amounting to P8,000.00, P6,000.00, P4,000.00 and P2,000.00 for the 1^st, 2^nd, 3^rd and 4^th Place, respectively while non-winning entries also received certificates.

On her closing message, Ms. Jovita Leny Calaguas of DOH-CHD1 once again congratulated all the participating groups and individuals and encouraged them to support all the nutrition programs and activities of the government and also reminded everyone for a strict adherence to exisiting health protocols to furhter prevent spread of COVID-19.
