29 November 2013- As part of the Communication and Advocacy Plan of the National Nutrition Council, LUPang ilocos, a stakeholders forum was held at the Hotel Ariana, Paringao, Bauang, La Union. It was attended by participants coming from the Regional Nutrition Committee, Provincial/City Nutrition Action Officers, District and City Nutrition Program Coordinators, Officers of the Regional League of NAOs, Region I and the LUPang Ilocos BNS Federation Inc., selected representatives from the State Colleges and niversities, Non-Government Organizations including some media partners.

OIC Rose Lulu P. Pagaduan stressed that the objective of the forum is to increase the level of awareness of the public and draw support from the various stakeholders for the continuing promotion and advocacy of the Revised NGF. Participants were not only encouraged to promote it but to adopt them in their daily lives and serve as models of good health and nutrition.

Invited speakers from the Department of Health, Regional Office I as well as from the LGU of Ilocos Norte shared their insghts and experinces on the NGF messages especially message no. 10 regarding the practice of healthy lifestyle to address malnutrition and non-communicable diseases which are the emerging problems in the country.

The challenge to support the advocacy campaign in promoting the 10 Nutritional Guidelines for Filipinos was an assurance made by the stakeholders.
