The National Nutrition Council LUPang Ilocos conducted a five-day live in training on Nutrition Program Management last September 30 to October 4, 2013 at the Hotel Ariana, Bauang, La Union. This training aims to enhance the capacity of local nutrition workers particularly on managing nutrition programs at the local level. It is intended to build capacities of local implementers particularly in identifying ways of improving local Nutrition Program Management especially in the development and implementation of responsive and effective nutrition plans.
Newly-designated Nutrition Action Officers and areas with no Local Nutrition Action Plans were trained. A total of 25 participants attended the training coming from the different municipalities and cities of the region. They were very thankful that a training like this was sponsored by the National Nutrition Council.
Ms. Mency V. Tolentino, MNAO of Bacarra, Ilocos Norte, Ms. Elma S. Irapta, PNAO of Ilcocos Norte, Ms. Remelina M. Maglaya, PNAO of La Union, Ms. Rosalina Estillore, DNPC of La Union and Ms. Analiza S. Miranda, DNPC of Pangasinan served as trainor-facilitators.
The training consisted of a variety of learning methods like lecture-discussions, role-plays, practice sessions and group activities. During the preparation of re-entry plans, PNAO Irapta emphasized on the need to draft the three-year Local Nutrition Action Plan to synchronize with the formulation of the Local Development Plan (LDP).
OIC- NPC Rose Lulu P. Pagaduan commended everybody for their presence ad active participation during the training. Finally, she emphasized on the actions to be taken for the efficient and effective management of their local nutrition program
