The Regional Organization of Nutrition Development Advocates, Inc. of Region 1 (RONDA-1, Inc.), together with the National Nutrition Council Region 1, held a meeting on Tuesday afternoon, February 27, via Zoom to discuss the organization’s next steps for nutrition development in the region.
Opening the meeting, OIC Kendall Pilgrim Gatan expressed his gratitude to the organization for their support and active involvement to the various activities and programs of the NNC Region 1 last year. The members of the RONDA-1 posed as resource speakers, moderators, and facilitators for NNC1’s programs in 2022, in addition to the organization’s principal activities and advocacies on the promotion of good health and nutrition.
The Social Behavioral Change Communication Plans (SBCC) for 2023, a collaboration between NNC1 RONDA-1, Inc., were presented and approved in the meeting. This includes (1) production and printing of IEC materials, (2) airing of tv/radio plugs, (3) digital advocacy events and support, (4) regular meetings and special events, and (5) revival of RONDA-1, Inc. civic advocacy.
The digital advocacy events and support include the Special Monthly Talakayan with RONDA-1, which would feature monthly celebrations, nutrition trends and updates, and other developmental issues. This will be scheduled for 3 months, with 1 episode per month to be managed by RONDA-1 live on air and via FB Page.
The digital advocacy event will also feature the Season 2 of Let’s Talk Nutrition, focusing on the improvised 10 Kumainments Nutrition School on Air. This will air for 7 months, with 2 episodes per month, via the NNC1 Facebook page and Youtube channel.
The revival of the RONDA-1, Inc. civic advocacy was also discussed and approved. The activity is an initiative by the NNC1 and RONDA-1, Inc. to increase and intensify the awareness of the community on the importance of proper health and nutrition. However, it’s annual administration was interrupted due to the COVID 19 pandemic. This year, the civic advocacy activity will continue in operation targeting nutritionally-depressed areas/GIDA areas for pregnant and lactating women/elderly/PWDs.
As a further matter, Ms. Charity Frianeza, RONDA-1, Inc. Treasurer, presented the financial updates and status of the organization. She also reminded the members of their annual dues.
