claveriaTUGUEGARAO CITY-The National Nutrition Council and MQ Mediazone conducted a four-day refresher training on 18-21 July 2016, in partnership with the Community Radio Council (CRC) of the Nutriskwela Community Radio Station Radyo Kalugaran.

Refresher training on Nutriskwela Community Radio broadcasting and radio operations aims to improve capabilities and skills on radio programming and operations of those who are involved in Radio Kalugaran but not have been trained whens the radio station was established.


With the help of Nutriskwela Community Radio Network Program, it targets to empower communities to disseminate correct, current and relevant nutrition, health, education and development information from all concerned sectors.


Nutrition Program Coordinator Rhodora G. Maestre, NNC R02, shared an inspirational messages through explaining how vital radio is and how it can influence the public in our everyday lives. Further she acknowledged the Batang Radyo sa Nutrisyon as innovation of the station and at the same time as a way of molding young broadcasters.


The 4 day scheduled activities covered detailed presentations on Nutriskwela Community Radio Network Program with emphasis on editorial policy and station policy, current status and challenges of the Nutriskwela station, Nature and Objectives of the Nuriskwela Community Radio, operating and enhancing the Programming of Nutriskwela Community Radio. Also, with emphasis on broadcasting tools and their actual applications, including writing for news, radio plugs, and reporting. Broadcasts with mentoring were held simultaneously with the hands-on training.

Nutriskwela Community Radio, Radyo Kaluguran 97.7 MHz FM was established last 2010.
