The Provincial Government headed by Governor Carlos M. Padilla, through the Provincial Social Welfare Development Office (PSWDO) and the Provincial Nutrition Council (PNC), supports the programs of Tiam-Tumaliuan Foundation (TTF) of Bayombong.

The PNC donated a weighing scale to the TTF on January 27 for the use of the senior citizens and other beneficiaries of the foundation. The PNC-TWG gave a brief discussion on the “10 Kumainments” and proper diet to 30 sick and indigent elders of Barangay San Nicolas.

TTF was organised by the Tiam siblings granting college scholarships to indigent students of Bayombong who were doing good in their courses, supports indigent senior citizens of Barangay San Nicolas, and will soon extend programs to the pre-schoolers. TTF is headed by Father Vic Tiam and supported by the Tumaliuan clan abroad.

Last October, Governor Padilla tapped the PSWDO to assist in the supplementary feeding requested by the TTF for the senior citizens of San Nicolas. The Governor approved the feeding program for twice a week, starting October 2016 until March 2017. The PSWDO also gave grocery packs and vitamins to the elderlies last December.

The PNC thought of joining in as its innovative program in the province. Milagros Sicat of PSWDO and a member of the PNC-TWG said, “We will be expanding this kind of program to the elderlies not only in Bayombong, but in the whole province.”

Last December, the PNC-TWG conducted health and nutrition education, weight monitoring and medical check-up to the elderlies assisted by Dr. Jocelyn Bumidang, Assistant Provincial Health Officer. On its next meeting, the elderlies will be provided with anti-pneumonia vaccine donated by the Provincial Government.

The foundation will also request the Governor for anti-flu vaccine soon. Provincial Nutrition Officer III, Luzviminda Ragpa said that she will also request the Provincial Agriculture Office to provide vegetable seeds for the elderlies. #
