TUGUEGARAO CITY---- The Nutrition Honor Award (NHA) is given to Consistent Regional Outstanding Winner in Nutrition (CROWN) that have shown consistent outstanding performance in Nutrition program implementation and improvement for three consecutive years.

Region 02’s Regional Nutrition Evaluation Team (RNET) monitored the City of Ilagan, Isabela and Province of Nueva Vizcaya as contenders of the CROWN - 1st Year Maintenance Award and CROWN - 2nd Year Maintenance Award last April 4-7, 2017 and April 18-21, 2017 respectively.

This year’s RNET is chaired by the Department of the Interior and Local Government and co-chaired by the Department of Social Welfare and Development. Members are the Department of Health, Department of Agriculture, Department of Education, Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources, Department of Agrarian Reform, Department of Public Works and Highways and National Nutrition Council (NNC).

The RNET conducted project visitation and desk review of the records and documents of the two Local Nutrition Committees and the sample Municipal and Barangay Nutrition Committees to assess on the status of Nutrition Program implementation.

Santa Fe, Nueva Vizcaya was evaluated by the RNET as Nueva Vizcaya’s Most Outstanding Municipality while the municipality of Solano and Kayapa were monitored.

In Santa Fe, validation of weights of the pre-school children was done for it being a contender in the search for the Most Outstanding Municipality in the region.

An exit conference with the LNC chairs and members to present the RNET’s recommendations and suggestions was also conducted.

Both areas will be evaluated by the National Evaluation Team on May 8-12 and May 29-June 2. #jnlb
