snap 1BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya, Jan. 23 (PIA) -- Officials of the SN Aboitiz Power-Magat, Inc. recently gave P700,000 financial assistance to two women’s organizations in the province to jumpstart their livelihood projects.

The fund was given to the Federation of Barangay Nutrition Scholars (FBNS) of the province for its Food Production Project worth P600,000 and the Abot Palad Foundation, Inc. for its Rice Trading business worth P100,000.

The turn-over of the assistance was done at the office of Governor Carlos Padilla at the provincial capitol in Bayombong town with former Gov. Ruth Padilla, Engr. Wilhelmino Ferrer, SNAP-Magat Assistant Vice President and Plant Manager, provincial health officer Dr. Edwin Galapon, provincial nutrition action officer Luzviminda Ragpa and officials of the recipient organizations in attendance.

Ragpa said the financial assistance will also boost the implementation of nutrition programs and activities in the province.

“The fund for the FBNS will be used for the production of healthy foods for schoolchildren in various towns of our province,” she said.

Governor Carlos Padilla also expressed gratitude to the officials of SANP-Magat, Inc., saying that the assistance will benefit the human resources of Nueva Vizcaya.

“This is a good investment for our human resources because it will provide them with proper education, nutrition, livelihood and health,” he said.

The fund is part of the yearly Corporate Social Responsibility fund of SNAP-Magat, Inc. which aims to provide livelihood opportunities for communities living within their host communities, especially in the watershed areas of Nueva Vizcaya and neighboring provinces.
