ilaganCITY OF ILAGAN, Isabela, (PIA) -- The city government here has beefed up its Assist in Nourishing a Kid (ANAK) program to ensure that children’s health and nutrition here are met.

City Mayor Evelyn Diaz recently led the distribution of P1.5 million worth of food items to all Day Care Centers here to sustain the implementation of their feeding program.

“We will continue to provide food assistance to all day care children in the city to ensure their growth, good health and nutritional status,” Diaz said, adding that every Ilagueño child deserves proper care and nutrition to be able to grow healthy and smart.

Aside from the feeding program, the city government, through its Anak program, is investing millions of pesos annually to continuously implement its scholarship program for the young learners, Senior High School and college students here to ensure their bright future.

ANAK was conceptualized in 2007 during the first assumption to office of former Ilagan City mayor Jose Marie Diaz in a bid to address the problem on hunger and malnutrition among children in the city.
