Willy Ferrer and  Governor Carlos Padilla sign a MOA to facilitate the payment of  financial benefits to host LGUs of power generating companies.# PIA Photo BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya, (PIA) – SN Aboitiz Power (SNAP) officials here recently handed P.7 million to provincial officials here as part of their yearly Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) assistance to the province.

SNAP –Magat Assistant Vice President and Plant Manager Engr. Wilhelmino Ferrer said the assistance will benefit stakeholders of the Provincial Nutrition Program (PNP) implementation in the province .The check was received by no less than Nueva Vizcaya Governor Carlos Padilla.

“The P.6 million will be used to augment funds for the implementation of the nutrition programs and activities in the province,” Padilla said.

He said the bigger fund allocation will be used for the implementation of the ‘Double Burden’ Program which seeks to lower the malnutrition problems among children and adults in the province.

‘Double Burden’ refers to overweight and underweight children and adults who are the focus of  the regular ‘Hula Hoop’ activities within schools and communities.

Padilla said the Hula-Hoop program which started within 3 schools a few year ago will be expanded in various schools in the province.

“We expect a more reduced rate of our malnutrition problem in the province because of the close monitoring of our nutrition workers from the province to the barangay level,” he added.

On the other hand, a portion of the fund amounting to P.1 million was used to purchase portable sewing machines to be used by the dressmaking students of QNHS. (MDCT/BME/PIA 2-Nueva Vizcaya)
