The National Nutrition Council Region 02 guaranteed the strict implementation of Nutrition Cluster Advisory No. 1 issued by the central office during the back to back virtual meeting of Regional Nutrition Cluster and District/Cities Nutrition Program Coordinators.
Ms. Maria Gisela Lonzaga, Regional Nutrition Program Coordinator, reiterated to the participants the essence of the NC Advisory No.1.
“Ito yung parang guide natingmga Nutrition Clusters samgaginagawasaatingmga localities, ditotayomagbabasesamgagagawin ng nutrition clusters salugarnatin,” she stressed out.
Ms. Luningning Rhodes, Nutrition Officer IV-Province of Quirino, shared to the participants the continuous efforts of the Provincial Government of Quirino in ensuring that the nutrition programs will continue amid COVID-19 crisis.Meanwhile, Ms. MarviePauig, ND III-Province of Cagayan, shared the efforts of PLGU Cagayan of giving
P 200, 000.00 to all Barangays in order to utilize the money for COVID-19 response.
In addition, Ms. Luzviminda Ragpa, NO III-Province of Nueva Vizcaya, shared to the participants that their information dissemination has been great and doing well that their municipalities are adhering with the advisory.
Furthermore, Ms. Henedina Cabrera, ND III-Province of Isabela, stressed out the PLGU Isabela relief distribution is now on its third wave. She also noted that all their LNC is aware of the advisory and ensure strict implementation of it. Conversely, Ms. Amalia Calubaquib, CNPC- Tuguegarao City, and Ms. Bernadette Macaraeg, CNCPC- City of Ilagan, have shared their respective cities’ efforts to ensure that nutrition program are still ongoing amid COVID-19 crisis.
On the other hand, members of the regional nutrition cluster, also ensure the strict implementation of the advisory while doing the mandate of their respective offices.
Ms. Nerissa Mabbayad, ND-IV DOH CVCHD, shared the guidelines and highlights of their central office virtual meeting re: implementation of EO 51 on respective localities.
“Dapat maging aware at strict tayo sa pag implement ng E051 o Milk Code of the Philippines. Sa kahit anong oras at panahon dapat appropriate na breastfeeding ang ating isulong,” Mabbayad added.
NPC Lonzaga thanked the members and participants of the virtual meetings on their accomplishment and time ensuring that nutrition programs are still ongoing in their localities. ###JNLB
