ro2 nueva vizcaya honoraria 2013BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya, October 10(PIA) – Barangay Nutrition Scholars in the province are expected to receive additional honoraria for their contribution in pushing for the nutrition programs, projects and activities in their respective communities.

An additional P50.00 has been pledged by Governor Ruth Padilla to the present honoraria of municipal and barangay nutrition scholars during the Provincial Nutrition Awarding Ceremony yesterday at the Ammungan Hall in the provincial capitol.

“Because of your commitment to serve and to further your efforts in bringing nutrition programs in a sustained in your areas, we will also contribute additional amount for you. It maybe little but this is only initial,” she said.

Padilla also praised the awardees from the barangay to municipal levels for their sustained implementation of the nutrition program in the province.

Luzviminda Ragpa, Provincial Nutrition Action Officer(PNAO) said that at present, the provincial government gives P165.00 each monthly as counterpart of the province to the incentive or honoraria of at least 300 BNS in Nueva Vizcaya.

 

With the additional P50.00, a BNS will then receive a total of P215.00 monthly as provincial government counterpart. The National Nutrition Council(NNC) also provides P15.00 each for the BNS’ incentives.

Incentives or honoraria given by the municipal and barangay local government units also range from P300.00 to P1,500.00, Ragpa added.

“The amount will depend on the financial capability of the LGUs concerned particularly their Internal Revenue Allotments(IRAs),” she said.

Ragpa said the additional incentive from the provincial government is expected to be released to the BNS next year through the approval of a supplemental budget.
