CITY OF ILAGAN, ISABELA----- The National Nutrition Council Region 02 plans to strengthen their media campaign on 10 Kumainments, First 1000 Days of Life Program and Philippine Plan of Action for Nutrition (PPAN) 2017-2022 as agreed during the 2nd staff meeting for March 2021.
The agreement comes after the sharing of NNC Online Recall Survey Findings shared by NNC Nutrition Information and Education Division (NIED) during the 1st Quarter NNC Management Conference, s. 2021. 120 respondents from Cagayan Valley participated in the Online Recall Survey.
The online survey led by EON Group, in partnership with Tangere, was commissioned by the National Nutrition Council (NNC) to conduct a survey on Filipinos’ recall on existing programs of the NNC. These programs include the 10 Kumainments, First 1000 Days of Life, 2020 Nutrition Month, and the Philippine Plan of Action for Nutrition (PPAN). The recall of the respondents on F1K Program and PPAN in the region were only at 10.83% and 10%, respectively while 33.33% of the respondents had recall on 10 Kumainments and 37.50% for 2020 Nutrition Month.
“I know we did good last year but we need to do even better this year,” says Ms. Maria Gisela M. Lonzaga, Regional Nutrition Program Coordinator- NNC R02 as she encouraged technical staff to further strengthen media campaign especially through the social media in order to reach wider group of people.
As a result, NNC Region 02 technical team will be handling one program per staff to ensure the widest dissemination of information. NO III Edzell Arcinue will be sharing information about PPAN 2017-2022 while NO II John Nestor Ballad will be in charge of 10 Kumainments and NO II Frances Vea Valdez will lead the information about F1K Program.
The survey was in the form of a 12-item questionnaire with a combination of “Yes/ No” and open-ended questions. Distribution of the survey was via Tangere’s online app, a consumer insights platform to a community of over 425,000 Filipinos across all regions and all demographics in the Philippines.
The NNC R02 hopes to cover wider number of people with these initiatives and ensure to disseminate all information needed by the stakeholders to different media outlets, especially in these trying times due to COVID-19 pandemic.###JNLB
