CITY OF ILAGAN, ISABELA----- Dr. Mila Villar, youngest Provincial Nutrition Action Officers in service, sets record as she is hailed as finalist for the 2019 most outstanding PNAO in the region.

She maybe the youngest PNAO in service, however her nine (9) years dedicated service as Municipal Nutrition Action Officer (MNAO) of Cabarroguis, Quirino paved way to her knowledge, skills, strengths and dedication to serve as PNAO of the Province of Quirino.

It was a tight race between Dr. Edwin Galapon, PNAO-Nueva Vizcaya and Dr. Villar. 

The following were the notable accomplishments and works of PNAO Villar:

  • Conducted regular Provincial Nutrition Committee meeting with discussions and updates on PPAN PPAs
  • Included action lines and follow-through in the minutes of meetings
  • All municipalities adopted the updated PPAN programs, projects, and activities
  • LNAP is integrated in local development plan and annual investment program
  • Oriented all municipalities and barangays on integrating nutrition on LDPs and AIPs
  • 100% accomplishments in accomplishment report
  • Conducted local MELLPI Pro with their own recognition and awarding ceremony
  • Conducted annual Nutrition Program Implementation Review
  • Rolled-out necessary trainings down to the barangays (Nutrition Program Management, Nutrition in Emergencies Training, Barangay Nutrition Scholar Basic Course and Infant and Young Child Feeding Refresher courses)

The RNET were composed of National Nutrition Council, Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources and Philippine Information Agency as the chair of the RNET 2021.

Conferment for the award is tentatively set in November 2021 during the Regional Nutrition Awarding Ceremony.###John Nestor Ballad
