CITY OF ILAGAN, ISABELA----- Armed with four decades of public health and nutrition experience, Ms. Clavelina Tolbe, District Nutrition Program Coordinator (DNPC)- Province of Quirino, edged another finalist to bring home the 2019 Regional Outstanding DNPC in the region.
DNPC Tolbe has been working with the Local Nutrition Committees of the local government units as early as the 80’s. Her presence in the 2019 LNC’s accomplishments can be felt. One can notice her presence in mostly of the documents and reports presented to the Regional Nutrition Evaluation Team (RNET) Region 02.
The following were the notable accomplishments and works of DNPC Tolbe:
- Took lead in all nutrition activities, meetings, and other programs, projects, and activities (First 1000 Days, IYCF, Barangay Nutrition Program Management, Pabasa sa Nutrisyon, Nutrition in Emergencies)
- Ensured formulation of Local Nutrition Action Plans in all municipalities and barangays
- Provincial Nutrition Evaluation Team member and involved in BNS evaluation and had produced Provincial Outstanding Barangay Nutrition Scholar (BNS)
- Ensured provision of honorarium/traveling expenses to all BNSs and livelihood projects
- Advocated for the hiring of BNSs to all barangay chairpersons in the province
- Maintains BNS masterlist and capacity mapping
The RNET were composed of National Nutrition Council, Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources and Philippine Information Agency as the chair of the RNET 2021.
Conferment for the award is tentatively set in November 2021 during the Regional Nutrition Awarding Ceremony.###John Nestor Ballad
