Beneficiaries and implementors of Tutok Kainan Dietary Supplementation Program for nutritionally-at-risked pregnant and lactating women of Reina Mercedes lauded the efforts of the national government in coming up with this TK DSP program in their area during the TK DSP monitoring on 07 February 2022.

The TK DSP started last quarter of 2021 in some of the municipalities in Province of Isabela and Cagayan wherein Reina Mercedes is one of the recipients of the TK DSP. The program started with the distribution and feeding of beneficiaries using E-Nutribun, a bread enhanced with micronutrients like iron and vitamin A and high in calories. A piece of enhanced nutribun already provides 60% of requirements for vitamin as it also used squash as its ingredient.

“This program improves the well-being of our undernourished pregnant and lactating mothers and at the same time, shared nutrition education during feeding,” said Kathleen Vea, Nutrition Officer of Reina Mercedes.

The monitoring team consists of Nutrition Officer from National Nutrition Council in coordination with Henedina Cabrera, Isabela Provincial Nutrition Action Officer.###John Nestor Ballad
