TUGUEGARAO CITY, CAGAYAN----- National Nutrition Council Region 02 strengthened Local Nutrition Committees’ social media presence to promote nutrition behaviors with the recently concluded training last 31 March 2022 at Hotel Carmelita, Tuguegarao City.
Ms. Maria Gisela M. Lonzaga, Regional Nutrition Program Coordinator, warmly welcomed participants of the training. She expressed her appreciation to members who were present during the training. She also emphasized the importance of utilization of social media in the promotion of nutrition behavior change.
Then Mr. Edzell Arcinue, Nutrition Officer III-NNC R02, introduced participants and gave an overview and objective of the activity. He also emphasized the expected outputs to be accomplished by the participants.
Mr. Mark Djeron Tumabao Jr., Information Officer and Social Media Manager-PIA Region 02, acted as resource speaker about the topic on Social Media Managers Tips and Background and Creating nutrition contents for Facebook page. He shared that in 2021, Youtube is the highest and most used social media platforms.
After, he shared different editing tools and navigate on each of them for the participants to appreciate the user-friendly aspect of every software. Editing tools shared and demonstrated were adobe photoshop, Canva and Microsoft softwares.
The next resource speaker who tackled about creating and managing your FB accounts and Pages was Ms. Frances Vea Valdez, Nutrition Officer II- NNC R02.
She gave the step-by-step process in creating FB accounts using desktop application and mobile phone to create their own FB pages. She emphasized that an active mobile number and email address should be used by the participants to ensure safety of their FB accounts and Pages.
After the brief sharing of information participants had a hands-on workshop in creating their own FB pages and invited their constituents to follow and like the page to be updated with LNCs activities and programs.
Mr. John Nestor Ballad, Nutrition Officer II-NNC R02, discussed about Facebook analytics and insights to the participants.
Facebook insights allow social media managers to monitor and analyze their pages and see which type of posts perform better and why and to make a marketing strategy accordingly. It also allows them to know more about their audience’s demography, location and when and how best to reach their target audience. He also gave an overview of Facebook insights and its importance.
After the lecture session, participants were encouraged to ask questions for the lecturers to provide clarifications if needed.
Ms. Antoniette Sanchez, representative from PNC Isabela, acknowledged the efforts of the NNC R02 in developing training such this. She also looked forward to more trainings specially in social media platforms to reach general public.
Mr. Valentin Cera, representative from PNC Cagayan, shared his learnings and appreciated the efforts of the NNC R02 in conducting this training. He also emphasized that they will also try to do research about the FB Page of PNC Cagayan once it will reach a milestone using analytics.
Ms. Laidee Dianne Toribio, representative of CNC City of Ilagan, suggested for more trainings specially hands on training on development of social media cards and infographics using different softwares and plaftorms.
To conclude the training, NPC Maria Gisela Lonzaga delivered her closing remarks. She also reminded the participants to ensure responsible social media platform utilization.
