The National Nutrition Council is mandated to monitor and evaluate the implementation of the country’s food and nutrition programs in the Philippine Plan of Action for Nutrition (PPAN). The interagency members of the NNC annually conducts the Monitoring and Evaluation of Local Level Plan Implementation or MELLPI since 1978. It aims to assess the efficiency and effectiveness of local governments in planning and implementing local nutrition programs. Likewise, in conjunction with the MELLPI, the NNC also evaluates the performance of the Local Nutrition Focal Point including the Barangay Nutrition Scholars (BNS)s, Local Nutrition Action Officers, and Local Nutrition Program Coordinators.
With the reorientation, NNC R02 is expecting for a safe, well-organized, and successful MELLPI Pro for LGUs and Local Nutrition Focal Point this 2022. #John Nestor L. Ballad
