On July 29, 2022, the Cagayan Valley Center for Health Development, in partnership with the Local Nutrition Committee of San Mariano, Isabela and National Nutrition Council Region 02, led the 2022 Nutrition Month Culmination Activity in San Mariano, Isabela. It was attended by Regional Nutrition Committee Members, CVCHD staff, San Mariano LNC, Isabela PNC, barangay LNCs, RHU staff, barangay workers including BHWs and BNSs, mothers and children and other citizens of San Mariano.
Hon. SB Minette Miranda, Chair of Committee on Health of San Mariano welcomed the participants of the activity. She shared that the municipality is honored to host the event and showcase the talents and programs of San Mariano in nutrition.
ARD Dr. Mar Wynn Bello of CVCHD, the activity’s guest speaker highlighted the importance of nutrition in the First 1000 Days of Life and the sustainability of nutrition-specific and nutrition-sensitive programs. He also mentioned the importance of helping our farmers, not only in the municipality but also in the bountiful region of Cagayan Valley in attaining food security.
Hon. Monico Aggabao, Municipal Administrator, also delivered a special message and thanked everyone for attending the grand event and for considering their municipality as host. He acknowledged the efforts and roles of everyone in ensuring the success of the activity.
RNPC Maria Gisela Lonzaga then highlighted the 48th Nutrition Month theme “New Normal na Nutrisyon, Sama-samang Gawan ng Solusyon!” She also encouraged the LGUs and local nutrition committees to further support nutrition by formulating and approval their 3-year local nutrition action plans, strengthening their nutrition offices and implementing the PPAN. She also thanked everyone for supporting the 48th Nutrition Month Celebration in the region.
As part of the 2022 Regional NM Culminating Activity, LNC of San Mariano, in partnership with Cagayan Valley Center for Health Development held the following contests:

Cash awards and certificates were given to the winners and participants. The activity ended after the awarding ceremony for the contests and the closing remarks of Dr. Almira Reyes, MHO/MNAO, who thanked everyone for their participation and committed to ensure stronger nutrition program management in the municipality. – Edzell M.
