TUGUEGARAO CITY -- Some government employees have participated in a bloodletting activity today, organized by the Cagayan Valley-Association of Career Executives (CV-ACE) as part of the Civil Service Month celebration.
Avelino Marallag, Commission on Population regional director and chair-committee on health and wellness, said a hundred of employees from different agencies have confirmed their participation in the said activity to meet the demand of blood units in hospitals.
“This effort is not just for CV-ACE members neither to the government employees but for the patients across sectors as we show our social responsibility as public servant to those who need blood transfusion,” Marallag said.
He also encouraged capable blood donor employees to donate blood and make it a habit and commitment to help prolong other people's lives.
During the bloodletting activity, medical technologists and nurses from the Cagayan Valley Blood Service explained first to donors the benefits of donating blood regularly, as well as the criteria/requirements for donating blood.
