TUGUEGARAO CITY --- The National Nutrition Council Region 02 recognized Local Nutrition Committees (LNCs) and Local Nutrition Focal Points (LFNPs) during the 2022 Regional Nutrition Awarding Ceremony (RNAC) of the National Nutrition Council – Cagayan Valley on 02 December 2022 at Marco Paulo Hotel and Restaurant, Cauayan City, Isabela.

Dr. Amelita Pangalinan, Chair of the Regional Nutrition Committee and Regional Director of the Department of Health-Cagayan Valley Center for Health Development who was ably represented by Dr. Mar Wynn Bello, Assistant Regional Director formally opened the awarding Ceremony.

A total of 40 awards were given during the awarding ceremony. The ceremony was attended by 250 guests from the local government units led by local chief executives, vice governors and vice mayors, members of the legislative bodies, and barangay chairpersons, Regional Nutrition Committee members, representatives of government and non-government organizations, members of the media, and BNSs.

The Regional Nutrition Awarding Ceremony recognized the importance of local action in improving the nutrition situation in Cagayan Valley. The awarding was fitting tribute to Local Government Units, men and women who have worked hard for the nutritional well-being of the populace of Region II.  More than ever, this occasion also gathered everyone to renew their commitment towards a common vision of nutrition adequacy for all as an important element for global competitiveness, people empowerment and human development. ###JOHN NESTOR BALLAD
