TUGUEGARAO CITY, CAGAYAN----- Cagayan Valley Nutrition Action Officers (CVNAOs) and Cagayan Valley District City Municipalities Nutrition Program Coordinators (CVDCMNPCs) association conducted the 2022 joint virtual General Assembly on 28 December 2022.

Ms. Maria Gisela Lonzaga, Regional Nutrition Program Coordinator, acknowledged the presence of nutrition action officers and nutrition program coordinators during the virtual general assembly.

“I am very happy that we are ending the year 2022 with additional knowledge specially in newswriting, documentation and recordkeeping which are very vital in our work and offices,” she happily shared.

She then discussed the updated Philippine Plan of Action for Nutrition 2023-2028 and emphasized the nutrition interventions that the local nutrition committees should adopt in their locality.

Mr. Mark Djeron Tumabao, social media manager and news editor-PIA Region 02, shared tips and basic information about newswriting. He also emphasized that it is important to follow basic rules and format to ensure that the workers are writing a news rather than an editorial.

Mr. Daniel Salunga, Nutrition Officer-NNC Central Office, gave tips and discussed topic about document like a pro. He gave insights and recommendation on how local nutrition committees can improve their nutrition records and documents.

Series of nutrition games were played and participants enjoyed the general assembly and most of them won prizes during the virtual assembly.

The general assembly was followed by the presentation of officers of CVNAOs and CVDCMNPCs.

Lastly, Ms. Henedina Cabrera, President- DCMNPC association regional and national, emphasized the importance to properly organize the association and to be more active in their activities and planned programs. She also looks forward for the approval of the constitution by laws of the association.

A total of 90 NAOs and DCMNPCs were present during the virtual general assembly. – John Nestor L. Ballad
