The National Nutrition Council Region III took a big leap in collaborating with Local Media Partners in the promotion of health and nutrition. Through the supervision of the Officer-in-Charge of Region III, NPC Rhodora G. Maestre, NNC Central Luzon was able to tap on media personalities and organizations who are willing to be in action to support Nutrition for all. The extraordinary event highlighted the induction of officers of the Central Luzon Media Group. It was held at Holiday Inn, Clarkfield, Pampanga, evening of September 10, 2013.

Inspired by the achievements of Mr. Ding Fugaban of NNC Region II Local Media Group, “Balay ni Ifan”, experienced broadcaster and Pampanga Press Club President Mr. Perry Pangan initiated the organization and pledge of commitment of the different Local Media Partners and Information Officers envisioned to aid NNC Region III in the facilitation of different programs regarding nutrition.

Launching of the Central Luzon Nutrition Jingle also took place that evening as presented by Mr. and Mrs. Ben and Deng Escasa, the lyricists and composers. The 10 Nutritional Guidelines for Filipino drama plugs by DWRW 95.1 FM with the marketing manager, Mr. Boy Santiago were also presented. All efforts of the NNC staff were paid as to the participants overwhelming reaction to the launching of the said activities. Through the guidance of NPC Maestre together with the combined efforts of Region II and Region III staff, the event turned out to be a huge success. NNC Region III is of big hope that the through the newly organized Media Group, nutrition information dissemination could be faster covering a bigger scale region wide. The event was capped by a regional workshop on the Communication Plan that would help improve the nutrition situation in the region.
