The National Nutrition Council launches yearly the search for the National Outstanding Barangay Nutrition Scholar (NOBNS). The search aims to assess the performance of the BNSes and to recognize those with exemplary performance in the delivery of basic nutrition and related services in their areas of assignment.
In Central Luzon, the regional search covered the period April 22 to June 2, 2015 wth the three (3) Provincial OBNS from Dinalungan in Aurora, Talavera in Nueva Ecija and Anao in Tarlac and eleven (11) City OBNS from Angeles, Balanga, Cabanatuan, Mabalacat, Malolos, Meycauayan, Olongapo, Palayan, San Jose, City of San Fernando and Science City of Muñoz.
The regional BNS Ecamination of the 14 nomines capped the search on June 8, 2015 at the Conference Hall of DOH-RHO III, Government Center, City of San Fernando, Pampanga.
As in the past, the examination shall contribute 10% to the overall score of the contenders for the Regional OBNS award. Whoever will be proclaimed as 2015 Regional Outstanding BNS with a rating of 93 % and above will be competing for the National Outstanding BNS. She will be visited by the interagency National Evaluation Team (NET) for validation if the initiatives of the ROBNS with the support of the Barangay Nutrition Committee (BNC) had resulted to the sustained improvement of nutrition situation in the barangay and merits her top-notch position. During the visit, there will be a review of the barangay accomplishments and a visit in the project sites initiated and completed in 2014.
