The NNC for Central Luzon espoused the regional launching of the 10Kumainments Lakas at Sigla ng Buhayand the soft launching ofPinggang Pinoyin February being the love month in order that these Nutritional Guidelines for Filipinos with the recommended food, eating and lifestyle practices shall ultimately become the NNC’s Valentine’s Gift to all Central Luzonians.
The launching which was emceed by Ms. Jaimee Santos of GV FM 99.1 was overwhelmingly witnessed by 110 participants region-wide with 7 provinces and 14 cities municipalities represented. Seventeen (17) representatives of the Regional Nutrition Committee Agency Members joined the LGU partners in welcoming Mang Moie and expressing commitment to adopt and support the10 Kumainments.
A prayer which speaks of a promise to campaign and role-model the cause of nutrition started the program which was reinforced when all of the attendees led by Nutrition Officer III Angelita M. Pasos recited the pledge to advocate and promote the wider dissemination and initiate at individual, household and community level practicing the 10 Nutritional Guidelines for Filipinos.
The presentation of thePinggang Pinoyand10 Kumainmentsunderscored the NNC’s effort to continuously translate and illustrate the Nutritional Guidelines to a version that everyPinoycan easily understand, remember and practice. Nutrition Program Coordinator Florinda V. Panlilio highlighted from the beginning of the program the crucial role of every Nutrition Advocate and Enthusiast to bring about positive behaviour change to cause nutrition improvement. Similarly, the launching provided the opportunity to communicate the guidelines on the use of the10 KumainmentsCollaterals to guide all partners along future promotion initiatives.
The launching was fun-filled yet very edifying when NNC Regional Office Staff and selected LGU Partners (City of San Fernando, Mabalacat City, Malolos City, Science City of Munoz…) took turns in staging entertainment-promotion number for eachKumainment. In addition, donors supporting the10 Kumainmentswere invited to discuss product benefits in order to exemplify partnering for good nutrition.
The planned simple became a remarkable launching program based on the remarkable response from the region’s Nutrition Champions.
