Director Janairo of the Department of Health – Mimaropa declares war against malnutrition through Oplan Kain-Sigla, a direct feeding approach with nutrition education classes in nutritionally-at risk municipalities in all provinces of Mimaropa. Malnourished preschool children will be served one full lunch for five days a week from July to September. Lunch would consist of 1 cup of rice, 2 pcs. matchbox size of meat or fish or poultry, ½ cup of vegetables and 1 piece fruit. Nutritionist – Dietitian Perla Supnet will supervise and monitor the operations of Oplan Kain-Sigla while nutrition education classes will be a concerted effort of the Nutritionsit – Dietitians in the locale.
The regional launch of Oplan Kain-Sigla will be at the Municipal Plaza of Torrijos on the 22nd of July 2015.
