2014 regional nutrition awardingThe National Nutrition Council-MiMaRoPa held its Recognition Rites to all outstanding Local Government Units (LGUs), Barangay Nutrition Scholars (BNSs), other agencies, organizations and individuals who selflessly gave efforts and all-out support to the cause of nutrition and for being a nutrition partner all throughout the course of fight against malnutrition in the region. This was held on 27 November 2014 atTHE HERITAGE HOTEL, Roxas Boulevard corner EDSA, Pasay City.

Around 100 awardees and guests attended the ceremony including Reg. Dir. Ma. Josefina P. Abilay of Dept. of Science and Technology-MiMaRoPa, Asst. Reg. Dir. Vilma V. Diez of Dept. of Health-MiMaRoPa, Hon. Gov. Mario Gene J. Mendiola and Board Member Dodjie Rebong of Occidental Mindoro, Hon. Mayor Russel S. Madrigal of Buenavista, Marinduque, Hon. Mayor Victoria Lao A. Lim of Gasan, Marinduque, non-government organization representatives, local health and community workers, and Regional Nutrition Evaluation Team members.

 

After six (6) months of Monitoring and Evaluation of Local Level Plan Implementation (MELLPI) from March to August 2014 and three (3) months searching for the Outstanding Barangay Nutrition Scholars (OBNS) from April to June 2014, followed by validation visits and deliberation of results that includes representatives from different government and non-government agencies, the following were the 2013 Outstanding LGUs and BNSs:

Recognizing that the efforts of NNC-MiMaRoPa and LGUs of the region may not be enough to eradicate completely the malnutrition cases of the region, the Regional Nutrition Committee (RNC) of MiMaRoPa gave special recognition to the leading nutrition supporters of each province of the region. The acknowledged outstanding Regional and Provincial Nutrition Supporters of the region are as follows:
