National Nutrition Council – MIMAROPA and its local media partner, Palawan - Romblon - Oriental Mindoro - Marinduque - Occidental Mindoro Nutrition Communicators (PROMO Nutri Com), joined forces in developing the MIMAROPA Nutri-times 2020 issue, the official publication of nutrition news and happenings in the region.

The development of the regional publication was initiated during the planning workshop of PROMO Nutri Com held on November 2019 in Vigan City, Ilocos Sur. It aimed to feature nutrition-related events from each provinces and cities and create awareness on the nutrition programs, projects, and activities available in the area.

This also features regional achievements in the region for nutrition, particularly the passing of the Regional Development Council Resolution No. 2020-072-908: Encouraging All Local Government Units in the Region to Provide Healthy and Nutritious Food Packs during Disasters, Calamities, and Public Health Emergencies, which will ensure better nutrition especially to the vulnerable groups in times of calamities.

Printed publication will be distributed to all local government units from barangay up to provincial level to inform MIMAROPANs on the nutrition-related activities conducted across the region. With high hopes, this may serve as an inspiration to further strengthen their nutrition programs and for other communities to adopt or tweak such programs to improve their nutrition situation.
