Digital Design and Social Media Strategy

As part of the Training and Development activity of National Nutrition Council – MIMAROPA, its technical staff participated on a one-day training for Digital Design and Social Media Strategy on 18 December 2020 via Zoom Application. It aimed to identify strategies in properly handling the social media page of the region and to improve skills of the staff in developing good social media content for its nutrition information dissemination in the digital context.

The training was divided into two sessions with Ms. Guia Peralta and Ms. Cyrille Lagamson as resource speakers. Ms. Peralta emphasized the considerations for the social strategy which includes attracting new people, battling fake news, compelling the audience to take actions, keeping the audience engaged and building trust. On the other hand, Ms. Lagamson discussed various design techniques and principles in creating an effective social media graphic materials.

Most people are engaged in social media thus information, news updates, and recent happenings are easily accessed. However, fake news are all over the internet and victimize people with wrong information. As responsible social media page managers and advocates of good nutrition, NNC MIMAROPA seeks the power of information through digital media to help improve nutrition situation and create a well-informed community through its Facebook page.

The training is a step forward to improve the social media activity of NNC MIMAROPA Facebook page to reach more people about good nutrition. The skills from this training may not be acquired overnight but through practice,  it is expected that NNC MIMAROPA staff will eventually reach the goal as mentioned by NPC Blanco in her opening remarks.
