The Social Development Council MIMAROPA approved the endorsement of Regional Nutrition Committee (RNC) Resolution No. 2, series 2020 titled “Requesting the Regional Development Council (RDC) of MIMAROPA through the  Regional Social Development Committee (RSDC) to Enjoin All Local Government Units (LGUs) to Strengthen the Integration of Nutrition-Related Programs and Projects and Scale-Up Nutrition Integration in their 2021-2022 Annual Investment Plans (AIP) to Address the Current Nutrition Problems and the Possible Effects of COVID-19 Pandemic in the Health and Nutrition Situation” to the Regional Development Council MIMAROPA and all local government units in the region during the Joint Social Development Committee and Regional Gender and Development Committee 1st Quarter Meeting held via Zoom Application last 5 February 2021.

Nutrition Program Coordinator Ma. Eileen B. Blanco presented the salient points of the RNC Resolution No. 2 series 2020 to the members of SDC and RGADC MIMAROPA. The resolution aims to strengthen the integration and to have appropriate funding of nutrition programs and projects in the Annual Investment Plan of every local government units in the region to address malnutrition and co-morbidities.

The members of SDC and RGADC, headed by Ms. Marvi R. Trudeau, SDC Chairperson and NEDA Regional Dir. Susan A. Sumbeling, Vice Chairperson, approved the proposed RNC Resolution No. 2 series 2020 for endorsement to action from Regional Development Committee (RDC). It will be presented and discussed on 5 March 2021 for passing and implementation of resolution in the LGUs.

NNC MIMAROPA will continuously provide support and technical assistance to the LGUs and to monitor their compliance and action to the said resolution.
