4 May 2021 – The National Nutrition Council MIMAROPA Region conducted a special meeting with the Federation of Barangay Nutrition Scholars (FBNSs) of MIMAROPA Region via Zoom Application. 

The virtual meeting was participated by five out of seven officers namely President Ramona Fortuna of Occidental Mindoro, Vice President Ms. Edna Ayaton from Puerto Princesa City, Secretary Ms. Denia Lingon of Marinduque, Project Officer Ms. April Marasigan of Calapan City and Board Member Ms. Emelia Riambon of Palawan.

To further show-off the enormous and ceaseless efforts of barangay nutrition scholars in MIMAROPA Region, a new project will be launched by the secretariat highlighting the nutrition programs, projects, and activities implemented in various LGUs and some success stories relating to nutrition.

Apart from the virtual chitchat with select BNSs of the region, FBNS officers were requested to submit details and actions photos of activities conducted in respective LGUs. Gathered information will be consolidated by NNC Secretariat as reference in preparation for articles to be featured on the webpage.  This is to feature the efforts of the LGU-wide in combatting malnutrition.

BNSs were constantly reminded to strictly adhere with public safety health protocols since delivery of nutrition services and conduct of nutrition activities are continuous. Though face-to-face interactions are limited, NNC MIMAROPA desires to maximize the social media platform and promotes the well-being and recognition of efforts of all nutrition heroes amidst pandemic.
