The Municipal Nutrition Office of Boac, Marinduque conducted a Computer Literacy Training for the Barangay Nutrition Scholars (BNS) in partnership with Department of Information and Communications Technology (DITC) and Information and Communications Technology Section (ITCS) at the municipal level. It was led by Municipal Nutrition Action Officer (MNAO) Ms. Giselle Pearl Olympia and supported by their Municipal Mayor Armi DC. Carrion.
The Computer Literacy Training Program includes sessions on basic computer use for the BNSs, preparation of documentation reports, and encoding of data in the new Operation Timbang (OPT) Plus tool, among others. The training provided additional learning for more efficient completion of work reports of BNSs. It also helped the BNSs to be adapt with the technology nowadays. A total of four training batches were held for BNSs in all 61 barangays in the municipality for the whole month of April.
Barangay Nutrition Scholars are considered front liners in this time of pandemic for they continuously provide nutrition services and monitor the nutritional status in their communities. It is hoped that through providing additional training, seminars and workshops, they will be fully equipped in their service delivery.
